weeaboo-stories:
Before I start my story, there are two things you need to know. One, I’m a cis guy, but my boyfriend is trans. However, he’s pre-T and pre-surgery (he’s still a minor, and unfortunately his parents are unsupportive), so he still has kind of a high voice and a slight figure….
I’m not sure I’d label it “transphobia” but I know for sure that this is what’s wrong with obsessive Yaoi fangirl hambeasts.
Tasers and stun batons should be a must for any sane anime fan now.

Famicom Disk System.
I would have loved to see this come here.
Mmmm…yes, playing the real thing is truly a treat.
It’s not that I don’t identify with this poster’s feelings, it’s just that the person writing this has no clue of the factors behind this. The short answer is that “The Internet Wasn’t Stir Crazy for Fanart Back Then”
1. Back in Gen 1, you’d be hard pressed to find good fanart of Pokémon in general on the Western Side of things. Most works were average at best but nothing like we see today.
2. There WAS fanart of Gold and Silver … on Japanese sites.
3. Scanners were slower back then (bulkier and the technology wasn’t as sleek as we see today) and drawing tablets weren’t very widespread. Don’t get me started on Photoshop or GIMP.
4. Most Pokémon fans that could draw were either starting out or didn’t have a skill level worth speaking of that slowly built up their skills. It also helps that most of the NEWER Pokémon fans that are the established artists we see today were wee ankle biters at the time, so that has a lot to do with it.
5. Imaging software was a tad clunky in those times
I know it sounds like I’m making excuses, but I remember those days when QUALITY Pokémon fanart was INCREDIBLY scarce outside of Japanese websites. It wasn’t until around Generation III when the quality of fanart in the west started going up.
I know these things. I was there.
So yeah, this is an unpopular opinion I highly disagree with. This opinion is WRONG.
Adventure Game Fever
I’ve been giving my copy of ScummVM a bit more attention lately.
Finally got to play “Day of the Tentacle” and finished it. Played through Full Throttle, though a guide was necessary at the latter half of it. Sam and Max was okay too.
It’s a lot more enticing for me to play though those types of games when there’s speech but I suppose once I start Zak McKracken, I’ll have no choice on that matter.
I know one thing’s for certain, I’m gonna support the hell out of Telltale games on my new rig…
This show was the shit.
Stuart Pankin had that kind of voice that worked for cartoons and voiceover too. He was PERFECT for making Earl Sinclair sound like an idiot, but not a COMPLETE idiot.
It’s also surprising how much they were able to get away with, “What Sexual Harris Meant” is a prime example — holy Christ, can you imagine a geriatric anthropomorphic dinosaur getting a boner in court while a middle aged one pulls out (what I assume to be) whiskey? Well it was suggested to have happened. Jim Henson’s crew were very frank about what they wanted to get across. The show pushed its moral agenda (allegorically) but it wasn’t being obtuse about it. Even if it was, people were too distracted by the talking dinosaur puppets to care at the time.
I was horrified when I saw that final episode in syndication on the WB. I was 12 at the time and I had doomsday/wrath of God based fears back when I was 10. Imagine that shit.

Just wanna draw some randomness to take a little break from work, blah.
Sooo….Let’s talk about this new Pokemon,
Are those wet-suits main characters’ are wearing under their clothes, right?
Does that mean we will get to see the underwater Pokemon world??
Pokemon+Scuba diving theme= Oh, yes, damn please, PLEASE.
I could go for this. Of course the kind of diving mask I’d want to see in use would be much different from the image. Simple, just like in cartoons and the design exists, thanks Japan!
Excited
So I’ve got some cool things going on this month, around the 23rd I begin my IT training…PAID after a few weeks going on until November/December after a lot paddle of life going through an identity crisis and unemployed from a position of ridiculous underemployment.
Guess I have something to look forward to and possibly a little less to be cynical about. So that’s good I guess.
